Hello everyone! How was your week? i hope all is well with your soul. Can you believe we are in May already? Where is the time going? The phrase “Time marches on” is certainly a truth. Speaking of truth, do you really know what the word “truth” means? Here are a few meanings that I got from Webster dictionary which defines truth as “(1) : the state of being the case : fact (2) : the body of real things, events, and facts : actuality (3) often capitalized: a transcendent fundamental or spiritual reality; b : a judgment, proposition, or idea that is true or accepted as true;a : the property (as of a statement) of being in accord with fact or reality. There are many people who have interpreted their own truths so as to fit their agenda for their life. I am not saying that some truths are “bad; but the real question is-“Is their truth from God? Or, is it some perception they have adopted in order to justify areas in their lives that may not be pleasing to God?
The Bible says “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.” (Galatians 6:7-8). Many people think they are “good” so they will live a life that they think is ok. Mind you, God is not even in the picture, but they think He should accept their lives/behavior because of the choices they have decided to make. As my good friend, Amy always says “just because we think a decision is good (and it very well may be) that doesn’t mean it is godly.” Just because we want to do something, or, behave a certain way, does not mean it is good or godly. There are many behaviors that are no longer considered sinful or shameful and is entirely accepted by society-and sometimes even in the church. Some people are so easily swayed and do whatever “everybody” does because the alleged acceptance of one’s actions appears as if there are no consequences. However, the Bible says “Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.” Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame. (1Corinthians 15:33)
I know this may anger some people, but the truth of the matter is this-we cannot live ungodly and expect God to “wink” at our sin and think it’s ok. Asking God for His forgiveness of our sins (past, present and future) is the way we learn God’s truth and it really does set one free. I’m not saying that as human beings, we need to be perfect-that’s just crazy! If we were perfect, then we would not need a Saviour and Jesus died on the cross so that we can be set free from sin on earth so that we may inherit eternity in heaven. We just need to acknowledge that there is just one truth and that one truth is Jesus. He is the one truth for everyone’s life for all eternity. “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” (John 14:6)
Pleas know, following Jesus comes with a price. But it will set you free from the lies that you may have believed; from the chains that hold you down down; and gives you the freedom to change and transform into the image of Jesus as you learn His word. Scripture says “In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evildoers and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it,” (2 Timothy 3:12-14)
As you go forward in your day to day, know that Jesus is just waiting to set you free. All you need to do is call upon His name and He is faithful to answer you and receive you as one of His children. I pray you find his love in His truth as you Walk Every Day With Grace.
In His Love,
