“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because He cares for you.” (1 Peter 6:8)

Hello! How is everyone? How was your week? It always amazes me how time flies during a three day weekend, but, when you go back to work on Tuesday, it slows down. Hmmm…  Anyway, I have been talking to many people lately and the amount of various struggles people are going through simultaneously is crazy.  People seem to be getting hit from all sides.  I feel that God is bringing certain things to an end in peoples lives-certain seasons or areas that are in desperate need of change. Definitely a change from depending on oneself to depending on God-and only God can bring that change.  Unfortunately, change usually brings anxiety.  I believe the anxiety is caused by the lack of control one has in these personal areas.  The “funny” thing about change is that it is constant-with us or without us life brings change.  However, God and His ways do not change because He is constant. “For I am the LORD, I do  not change” (Malachi 3:6)

The Bible says “The fear of the LORD leads to life, so that one may sleep satisfied, untouched by evil.” (Proverbs 19:23″ To fear God is to honor Him. And how do we honor God? By believing He is true to His word and that He will take care of us. He does this out of love-not obligation.  God has not only shown me His, but, He continues to prove it to me.  You see, Jesus hears the prayers of His children and He brings them to His heavenly Father as He intercedes for us.  Just tonight, my friend called me and told me a tornado was heading towards her town in Mena, Arkansas and asked for prayer because she had less than 20 minutes to take cover. Talk about casting your anxieties on God!! While the clock was ticking, she heard banging on her door-which happened to be her son and grandson. They were traveling home and needed to take shelter so they only had time to get to her house.  Then we prayed. I prayed from New York and she was literally in her prayer closet waiting out the tornado.  After 30-40 minutes, she called me to let me know that the tornado “fell apart” before reaching her town. Coincidence? Maybe. But, we believe it was the answer to prayer.  God changed her immediate circumstances.  Obviously, He doesn’t always respond that way-but He did tonight (May 30, 2013).  This testimony is for the glory of God!  God hears and responds to needs of His children and to His creation.

I have another friend who is also going through a tremendous struggle because she and her husband are losing their Christian school and have to start all over. I am constantly encouraging her because God knows what’s going on but, will only intervene at the appropriate time. “The streps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, and He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; for the LORD upholds him with His hand. I have been young and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread.” (Psalm 37:23-25). I remember about 12 years ago, my job was outsourced. It was an end to a season at the company where I worked.  I had my severance with medical benefits for 1 year.  God provided a job for me at the very end of my severance. My medical benefits ended on June 30th and my new job started July 1st-with health benefits. I did not have to wait to get them. He gave me continuous coverage. Of course I would have preferred my new job at the beginning of the year; but, God wanted me to depend on Him and if I had gotten my job sooner, I would not have developed the intimate relationship I have with God today.I had to depend on Him for EVERYTHING!  “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said  ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’ So we say with confidence, The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” (Hebrews 13: 5-6). It is through our humility with God we are able to know Him. Usually when things are going well, people are around and we don’t think of God because we act as if we don’t need Him. However, once something bad happens which involves some form of loss, He is the only one standing beside us waiting to lift us up and out of our predicament.

There is just not enough time to tell you how God has loved and cared for me during my life- time. I had to let go of my anxieties of the unknown and trust Him for a better “now” because we do not know what tomorrow may bring.  I did not let go of stuff so willingly. But, God is gentle and a gentleman. He does not rip things out of our hands.  He waits for us to open them instead so He can replace it with something better.

I pray that as you acknowledge some or any of your anxieties, you will humble yourself and get quiet before God and cast them on the LORD.  Let Him show you how much He loves and cares for you as you walk Every Day With Grace.

In His Love,

“For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” (Matthew 24:27)

Lightning Storm over Ocean

Hello. How is everyone doing? Hopefully, moving forward with God.  There is just so much going on in the world right now.  Please pray for those devastated by the tornadoes in Oklahoma. Pray for the families who lost everything-including loved ones.  Pray that these people would still find God’s love and mercy through all of this. The meteorologists said the tornado that hit Oklahoma was a historical “category 5” tornado. They are saying that they are expecting more and more of categories 3, 4, and 5. I believe God is trying to get everyone’s attention.

I am also hearing an increasing number of heinous acts within our society.  Seriously, animals attack as a matter of survival-people are doing it because they CHOOSE to hurt and kill for no apparent reason. Life is a gift and it is precious.  We have an enemy of our soul-his name is Satan; also called “the devil”. Jesus gives us new life, but the devil only seeks to destroy life. Jesus said “I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it abundantly.” (John 10:9-10). In this last week, I have also heard of people who have become sick and hospitalized without warning and someone who died in only a few days.  As a matter of fact, I attended that person’s funeral today (Thursday). It was a long time friend of the family.  She died  on Monday.  She found out 5 days earlier that she had cancer. She died in her sleep just 5 days from the diagnosis. I guess my point of sharing this is because we do not know when we are going to meet our Maker. “There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every ]event under heaven—A time to give birth and a time to die;…” (Ecclesiastes 3:1-2)

This family friend had no clue she was sick last week. She was making plans and doing everyday things when God had previously decided it was her time to meet her Maker. “Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment…” (Hebrews 9:27). You see, we do not know when we are going to die, but, God does.  It is something we will all experience and we will all come face to face with Jesus Christ-who is God.  That is why one needs to be ready to meet God and have their relationship established with Jesus. “And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.” (Romans 13:11). …“for He says, At the acceptable time I listened to you, And on the day of salvation I helped you. Behold, now is “the acceptable time,” behold, now is “the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2) In order to receive this free gift of eternal life, one only asks Jesus into their hearts “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 8-9)

No one knows what tomorrow may bring.  The people of Oklahoma didn’t know.  The people who were devastated by Sandy didn’t know. The friend of my family didn’t know-only God knows. Jesus says “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” (Revelation 3:20). I encourage you to be ready for the coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Believe me, He is coming and He is giving us warnings to get right with Him. “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” (Matthew 24:36)  “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. (Matthew 24:42-44)

I pray that you prepare your hearts and lives for Jesus as we walk Every Day With Grace.

In His love,

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)

Hello! How is everyone?  I hope you are all well and had a good week.  I don’t know about you but, I am so distressed about all the evil that is becoming somewhat “normal” in our society. There is so much death and destruction that people are being desensitized because it is has become too common place; or because it is too horrible to acknowledge so we “turn it off from our senses. God knew this behavior would come from His creation.  The Bible says “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!” (2 Timothy 1-5). The word “men” means mankind-not male.  To have a “form of godliness but denying its power” is for those people who may seem very “religious” but want to be “godly” without God.  These may be people (men and women) who want to control people’s lives without the people ever getting to know God.  To know God is to know His Word, the Bible.  “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. (Joh 1:1-3) We live in a sin cursed world. God’s people dwell in this sin cursed world and are just as affected by all of these godless situations. Human beings cannot truly change themselves. Oh, they might be disciplined in changing habits; and some may even think that God changes with the times…He doesn’t. “For I am the Lord, I do nochange; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.” (Malachi 3:6)  God is the one who transforms people into His image when they have accepted Him as Lord and Savior.

That’s why in this passage of Scripture, God says “if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves any pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from  heaven; and forgive their sin and will heal their land.” Believe it or not godly people can and do sin.  Sometimes intentionally, sometimes not, but they do sin. That is why God calls on His people to humble themselves to seek Him. A godly person will want to be sinless before God.  That’s why they become humble before God. “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5-6-7) A child of God will see how pure God is and how their sin separates them from God. There are many people who “appear humble” but are so rebellious on the inside of their being. “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” (James 4:6) Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.” (Romans 13:2)To be a child of God comes with responsibility and accountability-not towards man, but to God.  When we implement God’s word into our heart, then we change from the inside out because we have asked Him to live within us. God will change us and heal us when we humble ourselves and go to Him and only Him. God’s people must intercede for the ungodly. They are unable to change circumstances, but God can and will. “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” (Romans 8:26-27) Knowing God’s will help us change our ways. Prayer is how we communicate with God; and His word is how He communicates with us.”Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near” (Isaiah 55:6) “Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?” (Psalm 56:3-4)

I believe we have entered end times.  I am not being overly spiritual or preaching a doomsday message. However, I do believe God is sending us warnings to get our acts and lives together and to choose Him for all answers and for comfort.  Only God’s people can have this two-way communication with God. So I ask you to humble yourselves with me so that we may pray and seek God to forgive our sins and heal our land.

I pray you have a peaceful week as you walk Every Day with Grace.

In His Love,

“As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you;…(Isaiah 66:13)

Mother Comfort

Hello! How is everyone? How was your week? I hope all is well with your soul. This Sunday, May 12th, is Mother’s Day.  First, I would like to wish everyone who is a mother, a very Happy and Healthy Mother’s Day!  I hope you get to do what you want and have some time to yourself.

Mother’s Day can invoke many different feelings to people.  Not everyone had a father; but, everyone has had a mother. A mother’s love is what most people know.  It’s usually filled with patience, encouragement, understanding, laughter, tears, hugs, discipline, and most likely, worry. A mother will sit up all night with a sick child and go to work the next day exhausted. Even thought they may be tired, they will not complain because that’s just what a mother will do.  Some mothers will may make you toast and tea if you are not feeling well. Mother’s enjoy doing for their children and will do whatever it takes. Mothers are there for the good times and usually go through the  painful times right along with their children.

Did you know that God also loves us with a mother’s love?  Since God is love, it is only natural that He would ensure that His female creation would express the closest representation of His love-a mother. One of my most favorite Messianic artists, is Marty Goetz  There is a great line in his song “We Being Many” that says “He loves us as a mother loves her newborn child”.  Think about that.  No matter how many children a woman may bear, she has that same, unconditional, protective, strength of love towards her baby. She nurtures, cares and comforts her child.  God’s love for us is just the same-even deeper if you can imagine.  His love is the most precious gift one can receive. You may say, “That’s all well and good, but, that wasn’t my reality!”  Maybe your mom passed away when you were young.  Maybe your mother gave you up. Even worse, maybe your mother was there, but didn’t show you or give you the love that you deserved or needed.  You may say, “Where was God then?” The answer: He was there with you the whole time. He may have showed you His comfort and love through someone else like a friend, neighbor, teacher, another relative, who knows? But I promise you that God was loving you through the pain and the void. Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne?  Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; (Isaiah 49:15-16)

Do you believe me yet when I tell you that God loves you; and from the very beginning has always been there with you? “For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.(Psalm 139:13-16).  God’s promises to love and care for us are true. He does not lie. He is there for us should we choose to cry out to Him. “Do not hide Your face from me; Do not turn Your servant away in anger; You have been my help; Do not leave me nor forsake me, O God of my salvation. When my father and my mother forsake me, Then the Lord will take care of me.”  (Psalm 27: 9-10)

Jesus understood the unbearable, brokenhearted pain of His own mother as He looked down from the cross and saw her weeping for him. As He was dying on the cross for our sins, He made sure His own mother would also be comforted and cared for.  “Now there stood by the cross of Jesus His mother, and His mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, “Woman, behold your son!”  Then He said to the disciple, “Behold your mother!” And from that hour that disciple took her to his own home.  (John 19: 25-27).

I hope this Mother’s Day, you embrace God’s love for you as a mother who loves her newborn child.  If you want to know Jesus and know His love, all you have to do is ask Him to come into your heart and life and repent (turn away from) you sins-past, present and future. “Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.” (Psalm 139:26)  Jesus loves you and is here to comfort you.

I pray you have a Blessed Mother’s Day filled with God’s Love and that you continue to walk Every Day With Grace.

In His Love,

“… Jesus said If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:31-32)

john 8-31-32

Hello everyone! How was your week? i hope all is well with your soul. Can you believe we are in May already?  Where is the time going?  The phrase “Time marches on” is certainly a truth.  Speaking of truth, do you really know what the word “truth” means?  Here are a few meanings that I got from Webster dictionary which defines truth as “(1) : the state of being the case : fact (2) : the body of real things, events, and facts : actuality (3) often capitalized: a transcendent fundamental or spiritual reality; b : a judgment, proposition, or idea that is true or accepted as true;a : the property (as of a statement) of being in accord with fact or reality. There are many people who have interpreted their own truths so as to fit their agenda for their life.   I am not saying that some truths are “bad; but the real question is-“Is their truth from God?  Or, is it some perception they have adopted in order to justify  areas in their lives that may not be pleasing to God?

The Bible says “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.” (Galatians 6:7-8).  Many people think they are “good” so they will live a life that they think is ok.  Mind you, God is not even in the picture, but they think He should accept their lives/behavior because of the choices they have decided to make.  As my good friend, Amy always says “just because we think a decision is good (and it very well may be) that doesn’t mean it is godly.” Just because we want to do something, or, behave a certain way, does not mean it is good or godly.  There are many behaviors that are no longer considered sinful or shameful and is entirely accepted by society-and sometimes even in the church. Some people are so easily swayed and do whatever “everybody” does because the alleged acceptance of one’s actions appears as if there are no consequences. However, the Bible says “Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.”  Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame. (1Corinthians 15:33)

I know this may anger some people, but the truth of the matter is this-we cannot live ungodly and expect God to “wink” at our sin and think it’s ok.  Asking God for His forgiveness of our sins (past, present and future) is the way we learn God’s truth and it really does set one free.  I’m not saying that as human beings, we need to be perfect-that’s just crazy! If we were perfect, then we would not need a Saviour and Jesus died on the cross so that we can be set free from sin on earth so that we may inherit eternity in heaven.  We just need to acknowledge that there is just one truth and that one truth is Jesus.  He is the one truth for everyone’s life for all eternity.  “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” (John 14:6)

Pleas know, following Jesus comes with a price. But it will set you free from the lies that you may have believed; from the chains that hold you down down; and gives you the freedom to change and transform into the image of Jesus as you learn His word.  Scripture says “In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evildoers and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it,” (2 Timothy 3:12-14)

As you go forward in your day to day, know that Jesus is just waiting to set you free.  All you need to do is call upon His name and He is faithful to answer you and receive you as one of His children.  I pray you find his love in  His truth as you Walk Every Day With Grace.

In His Love,
