Psalm 121  Hello! How is everyone? I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! It is already December! How crazy is that? It feels as if someone is ripping pages off the calendar and I can’t keep up with it.  It definitely feels like it’s speeding up the aging process too.  (Oh no!! 🙂 )

I like this picture that I found online because we have a full moon tonight as well and it always makes me think about how God looks down and watches over His creation.  “The earth is the LORD’s and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein.” (Psalm 24:1) I always wonder what He’s thinking…alas, He doesn’t tell me. I know for myself I will go about my business and make plans about various things and I do not always take into account that I am not alone and that in fact, God is watching over me.  I can’t even imagine what circumstances I have avoided because of His protection.

Do you ever stop and realize that God is watching over you? He sees all and there is nothing hidden from His sight.  For instance, I just saw on the news a crime that involved an innocent pedestrian. It was very cold and rainy this week and this young woman was just walking quickly with her cell phone in hand and her head down (probably because of the rain) when this young, urban kid ran after her-jumped and kicked her in the back making her fall face down as he stole her cell phone.  You’re probably thinking “why is she telling this story?” I’m telling you this because I want to illustrate how God watches over His creation.  What the robber did not know was that this woman had an infant (3 or 4) month old baby strapped to the front of her like a papoose. So when she fell-she fell directly (and hard) right on top of her baby!.  The miracle is that the baby was completely unharmed from the fall and his mother falling on top of him. That, my friend, is the loving mercy and protection that only God could bring. Could God have had this situation avoided? Absolutely! Sadly, there is much evil in this world and God allows things for reasons we may never know and/or understand. Truthfully, He is God-He doesn’t have to share anything with us.  Do you tell your children everything? My guess is you probably don’t.  Yet, I know when people heard this story, the first thing out of there mouths were “Thank God the baby was unharmed and Okay as well as the mother. You see, God does not just get the acknowledgment, He gets the glory of who He is and His loving care even in a situation like this. “The LORD is my light and salvation; whom shall I fear?”  (Psalm 27:1) “God is our refuge and strength ; a very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1)

Even when I travel, I know my life is in God’s hand. I will for traveling mercies and a hedge of protection around me as I go to and from places in my every day life.  Even if I am not traveling and I am home alone-God still is watching over me and protecting me as a loving Father. I didn’t ask for it. I can’t buy it; and I certainly didn’t earn His love. It is His free gift to all who will partake of it.  “I sought the LORD and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked to Him and were radiant, and their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried out, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. ”  (Psalm 34: 4-6)

As you walk Every Day With Grace, take heart and have peace knowing that you are never alone and God is always watching out for you. The second you cry out to Him and for Him-He is right there to stand by you and to guide you; and to love you.

See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes. But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.” (Matthew 24

IMG_0867 Hello!  How have you been? It is almost August! Where is the time going? It seemed like yesterday when I was complaining about the snow and now summer is half over! The hours may seem to drag; but, the days are flying for sure! Does it seem like the world is going crazy or what? The turmoil in the world is just getting out of hand! If one is a believer in God, how can they not think about the end times; and if one is NOT a believer, what could they possibly be thinking about the world that we live in? “But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people. (2 Timothy 3:1-5)

I notice there seems to be more and more commercials for apocalyptic movies. Some of them are really frightening. I don’t want to name them because I don’t want to promote them.  Are people thinking about the inevitable? Or, is it just all about fear and money?  That’s why one needs to know where they stand with God-not in 1, 5, 10, 50 years from now, but right now. We are not guaranteed tomorrow. When we wake in the morning, I assure you, that is God’s gift to you because His mercies are new every morning. I understand what it’s like to wake  up and think “I just cannot take another day like this!”  But, I also understand what the alternative is also…death. “As God’s co-workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain. For he says, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.”  (2 Corinthians 6:1-2) God is very gracious to His own children and creation-and He doesn’t have to be because He is God, Almighty and He does not OWE us anything.  The attitude of entitlement is nothing more than laziness and ungratefulness and is completely against the Word of God. Actually we, humans truly deserve hell and death-and that is because of our sinful, un-repented nature because sin separates us from God. And since God dwells in heaven I know He doesn’t need to visit Hell.  Hell was not meant for mankind. Hell was created for the devil and His fallen angels. However, since so much of the human race has renounced God and Jesus, that is where they will spend all eternity.  We do not know what tomorrow may bring, but, eventually we will all meet our Maker. “Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. (Hebrews 9:27-28)  “Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness. In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for special purposes and some for common use.  Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work. Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels.  And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.” (2 Timothy 19-26)

You  need to understand that God is a Holy God and sin cannot be in His presence. That’s why Jesus died for all of mankind-so that He could bridge the gap between God and man. When we become Born Again, the spirit of God enters our body, soul and spirit. Prior to that ,we are just body and soul. Flesh and emotions without a built in moral compass. I am not saying there are not “good” people out there. As a matter of fact many are good or appear “good” in a human point of view. However, that does make them godly because they do good things.  (sheep and goats/ rich young ruler) As my very good friend Amy always says, ” There are goods things we  ca do and there are godly things we can do.” At one in society, I can understand why this would be similar.  However the “good” standard has changed in today’s world, but the godly standard has not, “For I am the Lord, I do not change; therefore you, O sons of Jacob, [l]are not consumed. (Malachi 3:6)

The moral compass has changed greatly in the United States; and it is a reflection of the sign of the times. (Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who [a]substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who [b]substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!)  (Isaiah 5:20) (2 Timothy  This could be the reason why people are concerned listening to the news and thinking about where they might be in eternity.  “The truth is this: hey replied, Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved–you and your household.” (Acts 16;310)

As you Walk Every Day with Grace, I want you to know that God’s promises are waiting for you to embrace and it will not cost you one cent. Salvation is a free gift Why worry about tomorrow and all of it’s turmoil when you can have the peace and assurance of eternity through Jesus Christ today? God loves you and is waiting for you to become a member of His family. The end of the age is coming.  Why wait for the closing act  to arrive when you already know how it will end? Mankind cannot change the mind of God. He has written it down for us as a stern warning for those who will not believe and as a loving exhortation to those who do. ”

The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.” (Revelation 22:17)

Hello! How are you? How have you been? I missed writing last week after being away for a few days and then time just seemed to have slipped away because of all the “catch up” one does upon their return.

In any event, I have been listening to the news and everything that is happening in the Middle East and it saddens me. It is so unfortunate there is so much turmoil there. For that matter, there is so much brutality here in the United States. Many people believe in a “god”. However, they truly need to submit to God, Himself, who is Jesus Christ. The very nature of mankind is sinful. “Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me. “ (Psalm 51:5) If nobody has told you about your human nature, I’m sorry to inform you of that but truth is what it is. This is not my opinion…this is what the Word of God says so if you have any disputes, you need to take it up with Him directly.
God is Holy and God has always made Himself and His ways available to His creation. (I say creation because mankind is God’s creation; but, not all of mankind are His children.) “So man will be brought low and mankind humbled, the eyes of the arrogant humbled. But the LORD Almighty will be exalted by His justice, and the holy God by His righteousness.” (Isaiah 5:15-16)
As a matter of fact, He has always has warned His people regarding their sinful behavior and He continues to do so today. God (and His ways) do not change. “For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed.” (Malachi 3:6) “Woe to those who draw sin along cords of deceit, and wickedness as with cart ropes, to those who say Let God hurry, let him hasten his work so we may see it. Let it approach, let the plan of the Holy One of Israel come, so we may know it. Woe, to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight.” (Isaiah 5:18-20)

There are no excuses regarding any acts of violence. However, I do believe in defending oneself and more often than not, defense comes with an extreme price. As Americans, we have changed our outlook and opinion of right and wrong, defense and justice ever since our government removed the Ten Commandments from public view. People seem to have had more of a conscience when reminded that not only God had set up His standard, they were accountable to them as well and that was understood and not up for debate.  Now, people seem to not even take a stand for God’s point of view because the “popular opinion” is to be neutral and to observe tolerance to those who do not have “traditional” views. Amazingly, the same respect is not reciprocated and expected. I completely understand Israel’s decision to protect their own people and land and NOT tolerate any actions of war or terrorism against them. They will let everyone know that they are a peaceful people, but when threatened-will defend itself. They also believe and acknowledge that their land is from God and their forefathers when they were brought out of Egypt.  They take their position as God’s Chosen People seriously and cherish their inheritance from God. God gave the people of Israel a land that was once desolate and now it is prosperous and filled with life.  That could only exist with the help of God. What the world does not realize either is that when Jesus comes to redeem His people, He will return to Jerusalem on the Mount of Olives. God has a purpose and a plan for Israel.  He also has a purpose and a plan for those who have been engrafted into His Covenant through His Son, Jesus Christ (Yeshua Ha-mashiach). As believers, we need to keep our eyes on Israel and support because of the Biblical promises God has given to her and to us.  God will deal with His rebellious children of Israel who have not recognized Him as the Messiah in due time and that is His business. Until then, I will love and support Israel knowing that it the homeland of my Savior. “Those who trust in the Lord are as Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but abides forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, So the Lord surrounds His people From this time forth and forever.” Those who trust in, lean on, and confidently hope in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but abides and stands fast forever. As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the Lord is round about His people from this time forth and forever.” (Psalm 125 Amplified)

There is so much to say about this topic, but I just can’t do it all it one  blog. So, as you walk Every Day With Grace, pray for the peace of Jerusalem and think about where Jesus Himself comes from and read your Bible for yourself to see what God says.  I don’t expect you to take my word for it.

“The man of many friends [a friend of all the world] will prove himself a bad friend, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” (Proverbs 18:24-Amplified)

hugsHello! How are you? How has your week been?  Are you beginning to enjoy the warmer weather with friends and/or family? Lately I have been thinking of friends/friendships and having a “support system” in life when life throws a curve ball and there is nothing you can do…except just “go threw” the circumstances.”Two are better than one, because they have a good return 
 for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls down and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone?” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-11)

Life definitely has its ups and downs…and it is usually during those times that we find out who are  friends really are. Some people are fortunate and have what  I would call “reliable back-up”. “Each heart knows its own bitterness, and no one else can share its joy.” (Proverbs 14:10) But, I also know that there are many people who don’t have any form of “back up.”  So the only one they can truly rely on is Jesus. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. (John 15:15) Jesus has made Himself continually and eternally available to us.“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.” (1 John 4:7)

Once we accept Him as LORD and Savior, He not only connects with us, He abides within us and promises to never leave us nor forsake us. As our friend, He can forgive our sins when we ask to be forgiven. “When Jesus saw their faith, he said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.” (Luke 5:20)  You are my friends if you do what I command.” (John 15:14)  As many of us already know, friendship comes with responsibility and sacrifice on both parts. “Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.”  (John 15:13) “For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3;16)

I want you to know we are never alone with God and His Son, Jesus. That is the promise of His relationship with usSince we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.” (2 Corinthians 7:1) “So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him.” (2 Peter 3:14) God is faithful to us because He loves us. Jesus is always a friend to us and because of that we will never again walk alone or be alone. His love transcends boundaries, cultures, and generations. His love and friendship is forever and He will not not rescind it.  We may not want God as our friend; but, we always have a friend in Jesus.

As you walk Every Day With Grace, know that “ A friend loves at all times…” (Proverbs 17:17) and that when in doubt, we always have a friend in Jesus.

“To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

Hello.  How is everyone? How are you progressing forward as we are now officially in March?  The beginning of spring is only days away-which of course brings a new season and a new chapter in our lives! I don’t know about you; but after this very long winter, I want to embrace a new season!   My friend, Amy and I have been praying for months (especially during this winter) that God would cause change in our lives. One thing we learned for certain is that one needs to be as specific as possible in prayer because you may pray in one direction; and God may answer it in a way that seems to come out of left field!.“In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.” (Proverbs 16:9)

You may ask, “so, what are you trying to say?” The point is that there are seasons in our lives. Some may be physical (a growth of a child; relocating to a new home…) some may be emotional When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.” (1 Corinthians13:11), and many seasons are spiritual “To everything there is a season, and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1-Amplified) I realize that there are various reactions when a season in life comes to an end.  Sometimes we struggle to let go because even though we may not be comfortable in our season, but, we are familiar with it-thus letting go is difficult because we see the season only from our perspective and not from God’s perspective.“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  (Jeremiah 29:11) I think the hard part for most of us is believing that God actually does have plans for us and that’s why we don’t let go of our current season.“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.  See, I am doing a new thing!  Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?  I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”  (Isaiah 43:18-19)

The way I see it, the only choice we really have is to move forward with God. “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”  (1 Peter 1:3) God is faithful to His own; He will show us how to move with change. “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”  (Psalm 90:12) I think one of the great things in a new season, is that it gives us the opportunity to re-evaluate and re-organize our lives. “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.   And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.   Then you will live in the land I gave your ancestors; you will be my people, and I will be your God.” (Ezekiel 36:26-28) I am so grateful God gives us new seasons in our lives just as He gives us actual physical seasons as well. For instance-today was a beautiful, sunny, warm day! A day like this, gives us something to really look forward to as we gradually enter a new season. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17) “Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,  I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”  (Philippians 3:13-14)

As you walk Every Day With Grace, and as we enter Spring, try to really embrace the season God is bringing you in to. Don’t let the fear of the unknown stand in the way of what God wants to do in your lives. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6) “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.  They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.  I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” (Lamentations 3: 22-24)

I want to leave you with some additional promises of God’s Word for you to hold on to as you enter your new season:

“A blessing for you, because the Lord your God loves you.”  (Deuteronomy 23:5)

 “May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.”  (Psalm 20:4)

 “Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.  Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced,…” (1 Chronicles 16:11-12)

“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”  (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.  He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.”  (James 1:17-18)

Hello! How are you? How is the New Year treating you? How are you progressing with your personal changes for your life? (I do not like saying resolutions. One can always change if one chooses)  I have to admit that since I have made some personal decisions, I have already encountered much opposition. I have not discussed my decisions with anyone, but there are some people out there who just want to provoke you to no end. I also know it’s not just physical-it’s also spiritual. “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but  against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.”  (Ephesians 6:12) The enemy of our soul does not want us to succeed in any area of our lives.

As a matter of fact, something happened to me today at work, that provoked to my core. However, I had to choose immediately how I was going to handle it. The situation made me very angry and hurt my feelings deeply, but I had to decide how I was going to process and respond.  As Kay Arthur of Precept  Ministries,(one of my all time favorite Bible teachers) taught years ago: “Do we act or react? ” I chose NOT to react. How? By recalling scripture to help ease my mind and emotions. I also shared this with a friend, (I’m only human) but, I also read my Bible at lunchtime. That’s why I choose the above scripture. ‘Believe me, I wanted to react in so many ways, I would be repenting for a very long time-that’s why I went to my Bible and looked up scriptures that had to with anger. “A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man keeps himself under control.” (Proverbs 29:11)  Sadly, I spent many years venting out to everyone-even as a Born Again Believer. It didn’t matter to me-I wanted everyone to know what I had to say. It never even crossed my mind how I looked or what people thought. What’s worse is I never thought about what God thought when I reacted that way only to find out He thought I was acting like a fool. Talk about sobering!  Sometimes I wonder how I had any friends at all because of my behavior. Can anyone relate?

As I read, I came across some other scriptures that referred to anger: “A hot tempered man stirs up dissension, but a patient man calm a quarrel.” (Proverbs 15:18) “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” (Proverbs 15:1) “Do not make friends with a shot-tempered man, do not associate with one easily angered, or you may learn his ways and get yourself ensnared.” (Proverbs 22:24-15) I know I have been hot-tempered. I also know I have been ensnared (riled up) by someone else’s anger.  Have you ever found yourself going from calm to crazy as you join in with someone else’s emotion?

You see the real issue is not the other person. It is our personal action (or, reaction) to a matter.”Better a patient man than a warrior, a man who controls his temper than one who takes a city.” (Proverbs 16:32)  “A patient man has great understanding, but a quick tempered man displays folly.” (Proverbs 14:29) How does God want us to respond? Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret-it leads only to evil. For evil men will be cut off, but, those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land.” (Psalm 37:8-9)  “But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.” (Colossians 3:8) “And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.” (2 Corinthians 3:18-Amplified) The Spirit of God lives within those who has accepted Jesus as LORD and Savior; therefore, it would make sense that the provoking we experience effects us in our spirit, soul and body. But, God is faithful to His own; He leaves us with His instruction manual (the Bible) as to how we are to conduct ourselves as believers. He loves us so much that He wrote it down for us to study and to imitate. “But Jesus looked at them and said, with men this is impossible, but  all things are possible with God.” (Matthew 19:26)

As you Walk Every Day With Grace, please read the scripture below so you can know that only with God we can change and control our behavior and reflect His.

Clothe yourselves therefore, as God’s own chosen ones (His own picked representatives), [who are] purified and holy and well-beloved [by God Himself, by putting on behavior marked by] tenderhearted pity and mercy, kind feeling, a lowly opinion of yourselves, gentle ways, [and] patience [which is tireless and long-suffering, and has the power to endure whatever comes, with good temper].”

Be gentle and forbearing with one another and, if one has a difference (a grievance or complaint) against another, readily pardoning each other; even as the Lord has [freely] forgiven you, so must you also [forgive]. And above all these [put on] love and enfold yourselves with the bond of perfectness [which binds everything together completely in ideal harmony].

And let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts [deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds, in that peaceful state] to which as [members of Christ’s] one body you were also called [to live]. And be thankful (appreciative), [giving praise to God always].”

Let the word [spoken by] Christ (the Messiah) have its home [in your hearts and minds] and dwell in you in [all its] richness, as you teach and admonish and train one another in all insight and intelligence and wisdom [in spiritual things, and as you sing] psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, making melody to God with [His] grace in your hearts.”

And whatever you do [no matter what it is] in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus and in [dependence upon] His Person, giving praise to God the Father through Him”  (Colossians 3:12-17 Amplified)

image009Hello! How has everyone been? Can you believe we turned the clocks back and it is November already?  Hurricane Sandy was just over a year ago and yet, many people are still feeling the devastation. So many things have occurred in this last year and it has affected the United States greatly as a nation.  Unfortunately, people often “feel” that effect in their wallets.

 

I personally believe that GOD is allowing our economic situation to get our attention because nothing else is doing it. It seems to be that when one has money-one is very self-sufficient; and therefore, does not see (nor want) God in or as part of their lives. The ironic part is that if it wasn’t for God, they would not have money. That’s right, God is in control of finances and it all belongs to Him. “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it” (Psalm 24:1) When we struggle to meet our needs, God is not mad at us or punishing us. He is trying to get our dependency off ourselves and our eyes on to Him. “I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth”. (Psalm 121:1-2) God always proves to be our sufficiency in all things; whatever the reason-whatever the season. To earn money, or to have money, it is a privilege-and with privilege comes responsibility.How we handle our money is a reflection of where our heart is. It is shows us what we value. “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:19-21)  Just because someone doesn’t spend their money, but holds on to it, also shows their heart attitude towards money. “There is a severe evil which I have seen under the sunRiches kept for their owner to his hurt.” (Ecclesiastes 5: 13) Jesus gave a powerful parable regarding this: “Jesus replied, Man, who appointed me a judge or an arbiter between you? Then he said to them,“Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”and he told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest. He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.”’But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself? (Luke 12:14-20)

The antidote to this behavior is for one to honor God first with their money; and, to be generous towards others.
“Honor the Lord from your wealth and from the first of all your produce; So your barns will be filled with plenty and your vats will overflow with new wine.”( Proverbs 3:9-10) “Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD your God which He has given you”  (Deuteronomy 16:17) “He who is generous will be blessed, for he gives some of his food to the poor.”  (Proverbs 22:9) “The righteous gives and does not hold back.” (Proverbs 21:26) God has blessed us with the ability to work and to earn money-one reason is because He knows this is a vital necessity in our lives so we can be a “free people” and now slaves to others; and two, He gave us money so we can bless others and provide for their needs (not wants).  This kind of blessing is given legitimately to a church, or through a ministry or organization. Sometimes God will bless us with finances just so we can bless others because of their needs.  One time I was in need to get my car fixed and it was going to cost $500.00. I was very upset as I did not have the money to fix my car so I was depressed. Then within a short amount of time, I brought in my mail and there was (5) 100 dollar bills with a note that Jesus loves me and wanted to bless me so I could get my car fixed. The note was anonymous and I had the money to fix my car.  God had put it on the heart of someone to give me the money instead of using it for themselves.  “But when you give to the poor, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving will be in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.”  (Matthew 6:3-4)

I am sharing with you the topics that are on my heart at this time because the times we are in are getting a little darker, not just physically, but spiritually and the one truth there is to cling to is through Jesus Christ.  Obamacare may not work, but Jesus will hear my prayers and heal my body.  He is the only true source we will ever need for our lives. I encourage to watch your spending and start paying down any debt you may have and save for y0ur future.  The Bible says “the rich rules over the poor, and the borrower becomes the lender’s slave” (Proverbs 22:7) That’s why it also says “Keep your life free from the love of money, and be content with what you have. (Hebrews 13:5) “But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness! No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?” (Matthew 6: 23-25)

As you continue on y0ur journey in this place we call life, I encourage you work on becoming debt free so you do not have to owe anyone anything and by doing so, you will get to see the awesomeness of God as He provides for your needs and even gives you those secrets wants that nobody knows about.  He is our provider and His love and truth is our sufficiency. Here i another scripture as you walk Every Day With Grace  “But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.? (1Timothy 6:6-10)
