“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26)

Hello! How are you? How are things?  I, myself have gone through a recent trial these last two weeks and I am so grateful that I had and felt  the grace of God.  Frankly, I do not know how people go through the tough times without having the assurance of their relationship in Jesus. I would assume by now everyone has heard of the news of the death of Robin Williams.  He was a comedic genius with improv and timing. The news of his death was sad. If he didn’t know Jesus when he died, then his death is even more tragic because now he will be eternally separated from God.

This may be a morbid topic, but we will all die eventually. A family member  of mine almost died last week, but it was not his time and God spared him. The Bible says “Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment.” (Hebrews 9:27) When one knows Jesus, they will die a physical death (absent from the body is to be present with the Lord”) but, they will have eternal life because the spirit will live 0n-which means the person does not truly die. You see, we are made up of spirit, soul and body. The body is our “physical shell”; our mind, will and emotions are our soul; and then our spirit. In the beginning God breathed His Spirit into His creation-which was Adam; thus giving him life. We all come from Adam and Eve. They are our “original parents” who are brought sin into the world-which is why there is a physical death.  (In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for dust you are, and to dust you shall return” (Genesis 3:19)  People walk around thinking that they should just take care of their bodies only and that will prolong their life. Obviously, we should do everything we can to maintain our health and live a healthy lifestyle; and I have heard so many people say “my body is a temple like the Bible says it is”. But, they are mis-quoting the scripture and say that as a way to idolize their body.  The Bible says that our body is the temple of the HOLY SPIRIT. “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

The real issue about life/death (or, eternal life/eternal death) is whether one believes in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and will therefore never die.  Do you believe this to be true? Can you accept that there is eternal life, but only through Jesus “Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6) Many people think their philosophy will save them Or, their religion will save them; or, their morality will save them-you know the “golden rule”…”do unto others as you would want done to you…” But, the fact is this…none of this will save you and guarantee you a spot in heaven. One’s morality will not get you salvation. However, morality is a by-product of  one’s salvation.  You may not accept this information, but, do you believe it is true? Understand that God see everything and “we have all sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23) God is a Holy God and He will not have anything sinful in His presence. That is why only Jesus offers us forgiveness of our sins and makes us “white as snow” as He mediates on our behalf. The only way to achieve this is to believe this. I’m not talking about visualization, or perception or anything that is self-serving. Belief is an act of faith because there really is nothing for us to do except believe what God says is true.

This trials I went through made me think (again) that time is short and life as we know it is precious. My concern with my family member is that they refuse to submit themselves to Jesus.  Salvation is a gift; so therefore, it is something we cannot bargain with or obtain on our own. Jesus said “I am the Way, the truth and light. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Do you believe this? The decision is an easy one and yours to make. We are not promised tomorrow which is why “Today is the day of salvation.”  For he says, In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you. I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.” (2 Corinthians 6:2) Salvations starts with a choice to believe and then the action to accept-which awakes your spiritual nature (remember we are spirit, soul and body).

As you walk Every Day With Grace,  I ask that you choose life-eternal life and believe. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever would believe on Him would not perish, but have ever-lasting life.” (John 3:16)

I Surrender All | Judson W. Van DeVenter

 All to Jesus I surrender;
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live.

Refrain:
I surrender all,
I surrender all;
All to Thee, my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.

All to Jesus I surrender;
Humbly at His feet I bow,
Worldly pleasures all forsaken;
Take me, Jesus, take me now.

All to Jesus I surrender;
Make me, Savior, wholly Thine;
Let me feel the Holy Spirit,
Truly know that Thou art mine.

All to Jesus I surrender;
Lord, I give myself to Thee;
Fill me with Thy love and power;
Let Thy blessing fall on me.

All to Jesus I surrender;
Now I feel the sacred flame.
Oh, the joy of full salvation!
Glory, glory, to His Name!

“And my God will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19 amplified)

Hello! How are you?  Even though it’s the beginning of the New Year, I could already feel the change in the air and it seems to be very surreal. It feels like there is pressure pushing in from all sides.  For instance, the holiday bills are beginning to come in; I already found out that I will have to lay out a lot more money regarding prescriptions, co-payments to doctors; and  as we all know education, housing, food and gas is skyrocketing. There is way too much month at the end of the money.  Can anyone identify with that? Or, is it just me?

Sorry if this sounds depressing, but, this is a reality many of us are facing whether we like it or not. Many of these circumstances are a forced reality-not a chosen one. So, is there any good news to what I’m talking about? The only way one is going to manage during such stressful times is through the grace of God. God is the only one who is going of take care of you and me.  “He has given food and provision to those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him; He will remember His covenant forever and imprint it [on His mind].” (Psalm 111:5) “I will surely and abundantly bless her provision; I will satisfy her poor with bread.” (Psalm 132:15) God will be the only one to provide anything and everything in our lives-but we need to trust Him and seek Him for His will and provision for our lives. “Observe and consider the ravens; for they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn; and [yet] God feeds them. Of how much more worth are you than the birds!” (Luke 12:24) “Your flock found a dwelling place in it; You, O God, in Your goodness did provide for the poor and needy.” (Psalm 68:10)  If you don’t know already know, God is a God of relationship with His creation. He will share His provision with His own. He cares for us and will take care of us, but, He also expects our responsibility and accountability to each other and our families. “And let our own [people really] learn to apply themselves to good deeds (to honest labor and honorable employment), so that they may be able to meet necessary demands whenever the occasion may require and not be living idle and uncultivated and unfruitful lives. (Titus 3:14) “If anyone fails to provide for his relatives, and especially for those of his own family, he has disowned the faith [by failing to accompany it with fruits] and is worse than an unbeliever [who performs his obligation in these matters]. (1 Timothy 5:8)

I believe that now is the time that God wants His children to learn to become better stewards in everything they have. He also want us to realize that He owns EVERYTHING. “The earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness of it, the world and they who dwell in it.” (Psalm 24:1)  “I will noTtake a bull from your house, nor goats out of your folds. For every beast of the forest is Mine, And the cattle on a thousand hills. I know all the birds of the mountains, And the wild beasts of the field are Mine. “If I were hungry, I would not tell you; For the world is Mine, and all its fullness.” (Psalm 50:9-12). As God shares with us, He wants us to have our dependency only on Him. He wants to provide for us so we do not have to borrow or purchase anything from a stranger. “But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.” (Matthew 6:33) ‘The Lord shall open to you His good treasury, the heavens, to give the rain of your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hands; and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow” (Deuteronomy 28: 12)  “And [God] Who provides seed for the sower and bread for eating will also provide and multiply your [resources for] sowing and increase the fruits of your righteousness [which manifests itself in active goodness, kindness, and charity].”  (2 Corinthians 9:10)

I believe this is only the beginning of tremendous change to come for all of us.  As you Walk Every Day With Grace, I want to leave you this word to encourage you if you begin to feel overwhelmed. “Therefore humble yourselves [demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation] under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you, Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.”  (1 Peter 5:6-7 Amplified)  Another version is written this way “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

In His Love,
