“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” (Isaiah 43:18-19)

Isaiah43v19.jpg.w560h396Hello! How are you? Can you believe it is New Year’s Eve already? I don’t know where 2014 went! It seems the older one becomes, the faster the clock turns.

The good news is that with the New Year one has the opportunity to do new things-which means New Beginnings.  I know many people make new resolutions for their new year. I now prefer to look at my new year as looking at new opportunities. Believe me, I wasn’t always like this. If anything, I tend to over-think and over analyze everything. So, what do you think God wanted me to learn?  “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” (Psalm 90:12)

As my friend Amy reminded me-reflection isn’t a bad thing, but, we need to be aware the about the amount of time we spend on the things that have passed and can no longer be changed. “In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.” (Proverbs 16:9) It can be very self-absorbing-which means self focused rather than God focused. The truth of the matter is that we walk through seasons within our lives. “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

As you Walk Every Day with Grace, know that God has everything new waiting for you should you want His will for your life. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)  “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. Then you will live in the land I gave your ancestors; you will be my people, and I will be your God.” (Ezekiel 36:26-28)

Know that with God comes newness of life but, we need to commune with Him and we do that through prayer…which is basically talking to God. “Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced,…” (1 Chronicles 16:11-12) “And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” (Mark 11:25-26). Also realize that in order to move forward, we can not keep looking at one was-whether it is past glories, or past regrets.  We need to have continual progression forward. “Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:13-14)

In His Love,

Melody

I wish all of you a Happy, Healthy, Blessed New Year in Jesus! “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17). “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” (Matthew 11:28-29)

images-2Hello! How are you? How is the beginning of your September going? In spite of all the “hustle and bustle”, everyone who has kids should be back to school and getting back to business as usual. I know a few people who “milk”every second of their summertime, but their kids don’t necessarily acclimate to a routine right away. This could be very stressful for everyone involved-parents, kids, teachers, bus drivers, etc… Who would have thought there would be stress while trying to achieve rest? Unrest does not only effect the body, but, it also effects the soul.

For those who are truly seeking God, the first requirement is to come to God, come to Jesus. People always think they have to get “cleaned up” first or make themselves right before coming to God, but nothing can be further from God’s truth! God says “come”. He didn’t say “Come when you are no longer a sinner”; or, when you think you are good enough for Him…He says to “come now” because YOU ARE a sinner. “As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; here is no one who does good, not even one.” (Romans 3:10-12) God does not discriminate as to who can obtain salvation and eternal life. His love and mercy is extended to anyone and everyone. And, to ensure that there is a bridge between Himself and mankind, He sent His Son to die on a cross to shed His blood for whomsoever would receive God through His Son, Jesus.“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whomsoever would believe on Him would not perish, but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” (Joh 3:16-17) “On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” (Mark 2:17)

God accepts us as we are. He does not ask us to change before coming into His presence. Truthfully, it is after we come that He begins to change us and gradually (yet continually) conform us to the image of His Son, Jesus. But, that transformation begins after we repent (turn from) our sins. First, we come; then we repent; and then begins our transformation into the image of God’s Son, Jesus. God sees and cares the burdens and struggles we carry. He sees our anxiety and restlessness-it actually hurts Him to see us live like that. The problem with living like this must create a tremendous amount of pressure and tension.  That’s why He wants to give us rest. He wants to carry our burdens, but that could only happen when we release them and give them to Him. “Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.“(1Peter 5:7) When we give Him our burdens, we are surrendering our lives over to Him; we are putting our trust in God and acknowledging that HE KNOWS better how to love us, care for us, and how to teach us how to go through our struggles so we can apply His ways into our lives.

I also want to add that being weary and burdened is not a one time thing. Can you relate to that? I know many times when I “feel” strong or rested, I take my struggles back and carry them again until they wear me down, All the while God is saying “No! No! No! Come to me when you are weary and burdened and I will give your rest.” He doesn’t want me to be so weary that I am being pulled down and looking down and not looking up and keeping my eyes on Him. The enemy of our soul will do whatever he can so that we will not focus on God, trust God or love God.  The reality is this-God is a loving Father who sees everything we do and everything we go through. “She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me.” (Genesis 16:13)

Please know that most people are walking around carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders. We are living in stressful times as a society, as a nation; and God is being pushed out of the way more and more because of an Anti-Christ spirit that is very real and very prevalent on this planet. That’s the bad news I’m sorry to say, but it is the truth. The good news is “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God; and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world. You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.” (1 Joh 4:1-4)  “If God is for us, who can stand against us?” (Romans 3:3)

As you walk Every Day With Grace, I want to encourage you that there is God who loves you, cares for you, and will carry your burdens for you if you just come to Him willingly as He extends Himself with open arms to you and an invitation to be yoked into His salvation for all eternity. “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” (Revelation 3:20)

In His Love,

“I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you.” (Philippians 3:14-15N

imagesHello! How is everyone? How is life going with you?  There are so many things going on in the world and in our personal lives that the only thing to say is that we need to press on  as move forward in our lives.  I probably seem somewhat distracted, but, I too, have been going through things and my mind, time and attention seem to be all over the place. “Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God. (Psalm 42:11)

As one goes through difficult times, one needs to encourage themselves in the LORD and to press on while holding on to God’s promises.I waited patiently for the LORD; he inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the LORD (Psalms 40:1-3) “When the righteous cry for help, the LORD hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.” (Psalms 34:17)  Friends and family are good to have, but God is truly the only one who can change our situations and help us up when we are down and feel like there is no where else to go. “But you, O LORD, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.” (Psalm 3:3) ” I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

My blog will be very short this week.  i want to encourage you in some scriptures so I can encourage myself. So, here are some of the promises that are ours to keep and to hold on to: “Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed.”

 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world. J0HN 16:33)  “Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed.” (1 Peter 4;12-13)

Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39)

 As you walk Every Day With Grace,  my heart’s cry for you is embrace God’s truth in His word as you press on in your daily lives.  I leave you with this old time Hymn to encourage you so you can press on:

Press On

Press on, my brother, sister,
And face the deadly foe;
Through Jesus Christ we’ll conquer,
While trav’ling here below. Refrain:
Press on, press on,
Says Christ, our loving Friend;
Press on, press on,
“I’m with thee to the end.” Press on, and let thy failings
A blessing to thee prove;
No wave of care or sorrow
Thy trusting soul shall move. Press on, though raging tempests
And fiery billows roll;
While crossing life’s rough rapids,
He’ll safely guide thy soul.

Press on, ’mid strong temptation,
Tell Satan he must flee;
In Jesus’ name resist him,
And vict’ry thine shall be.

Press on, forever trusting,
In faith believing, too;
In spite of doubt or feeling,
God’s word will take you through.

Press on to what’s before us,
Forgetting all the past;
The light of heav’n so glorious
Eternally shall last.
