Hello! How are you? I hope all is well since I have last spoken with you. Life has way of continuing on no matter what goes on in one’s life.  What’s the saying? “Life happens while you’re making plans”. Many people in many countries make plans but do not necessarily have the freedom to carry out their plans or wishes because they simply are not allowed.

Tomorrow is July 4th-our Independence Day in the United States. American citizens  will celebrate and honor their freedoms by attending barbecues, parades, togetherness with family, friends and, by the end of the day-fireworks.  The Declaration of Independence was written specifically for the CITIZENS of the  United States…not for the “guests” that stay in our country.  The men who wrote the Declaration were all God fearing, God honoring men. “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty” (2 Corinthians 3:17).

These men held the Bible, and its’ principles as the highest Authority to govern a nation and the future of that nation.  These men prayed separately and corporately as they sought the counsel of God to write our Declaration of Independence.  “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.” (Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776). images

These visionary men knew that this nation could not survive without God governing it. So I will keep Your law continually, forever and ever. And I will walk at liberty, for I seek Your precepts” (Psalm 119:44-45).  As long as the Unites States continue to acknowledge their Creator in their lives, laws and government, it will be a Blessed and Free Nation under God. So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, ‘If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free”. (John 8:31-32) One might say “what truth?” The truth that because of God and His Son Jesus, we have freedom-in various ways in our lives and in this country. These truths are also the promise of God to His children and to His Creation; and He cannot deny Himself. For such is the will of God that by doing right you may silence the ignorance of foolish men. Act as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bonds laves of God” (1 Peter 2:15-16).So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36). The freedom God offers us exceeds the physical and crosses directly into the spiritual. “But thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were committed, and having been freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life” (Romans 6:17-18, 22).
“For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God” (Romans 8:19-21).

As you Walk Every Day With Grace, I wish you a sobering reflection into our Country’s history and that you will see God in your celebration of our Freedom.

slide1-n Hello! How are you? I hope all is well as we are sprinting into summer. This weekend we are celebrating Memorial Day-which means we, celebrate those who fought for the freedoms many of us take for granted.

It is a privilege to live in the United States-that’s why many people still immigrate to this land to take advantage of, or engage in the voice and freedoms of America.  Our History is young in comparison to other countries, but look at what was accomplished.  Our country has had its share of war and bloodshed and God has seen it every bit of it and we are to honor those who chose to lay down their lives for their country and fellow man. “Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15:13). “Render to all what is due them: tax to whom tax is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor.” (Romans 13:7).“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18).

God is very aware of who His creation is and who belongs to Him as His children. Death grieves His heart when any of His creation passes away, but, He is there to receive those who belong to Him. “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His godly ones.” (Psalm 116:15). However, there are those who purposely did not chose God for their life. “The memory of the righteous is blessed, but the name of the wicked will rot.” (Proverbs 10:7).

As believers, we are to have the same loyalty, devotion and steadfastness as a soldier. God views His own as children and soldiers because our lives are always in a spiritual battle and we need to know for whom we are fighting-and more importantly, knowing who are enemy is. “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”(1 Peter 5:8). “Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.” (1 Corinthians 16:13). That is why the scriptures says for us to: “Take [with me] your share of the hardships and suffering [which you are called to endure] as a good (first-class) soldier of Christ Jesus. No soldier when in service gets entangled in the enterprises of [civilian] life; his aim is to satisfy and please the one who enlisted him.” (2 Timothy 2:3-4)

I thank God that His mercies are new every morning and I am so grateful for the men, women, fathers, mothers, brothers and sister who chose to serve and protect their lives on for me and my country.  I’m thankful for our police as well as our soldiers. That is why they are continually in my prayers.

As you walk Every Day With Grace, please pray for your military and say thank you when you see a  soldier. You remain free because they are here to protect us from various enemies.

I do want to say THANK YOU to all of our Military Personnel. I salute you and have so much appreciation for your dedication.

Footnote:
One of the major poetic products of the American Civil War, the Battle Hymn of the Republic was written by Unitarian laywoman Julia Ward Howe to supply a more uplifting set of lyrics for the stirring tune of “John Brown’s body” which she had heard Union soldiers singing as they marched southward. It was first published in February, 1862, issue of The Atlantic Monthly, though the version printed there lacks the refrain as well as the sixth verse.

Battle Hymn of the Republic is the common title of the text, and commonly used also as a tune name. The original title was The Battle Hymn of the Republic. (1819-1910)

image005Hello! How are you? I hope all is going well. Today is September 11, 2014. It has been 13 years since the horrific attack on the United States. I’m sure no American anywhere expected this to happen on our soil. Mostly because we are supposed to be the most powerful nation in the world and had “security” in being an American. Sadly, I also believe that as Americans we can be very arrogant in our citizenship which is why we were so taken aback (to say the least) at what happened. Now there had been smaller attempts against us in the (recent) past, but nothing in comparison to that day. Think about that…people immigrate from all over the world to still come here. We have so much alleged freedom and opportunity that people are constantly coming in illegally to get what our country has to offer. We are experiencing legal issues regarding this area of immigration right now. That could be another topic for another day.

 I do believe that God has shown the United States much mercy before, during and after 09/11. People actually started going back into the churches and temples looking for God in all of this tragedy. People may have thought this was the beginning of an apocalypse. Who knows? Most likely everyone undoubtedly thought it was just going to be another average, ordinary day- just going to their jobs. Who would have thought the unimaginable? Who knew that was the last day many families would never see their loved ones? Who knew that was the day they were going to literally meet their maker? Who would have thought? Why would they? America did not have any cause for this type of attack. For many on that day, that was the Day of the Lord for them.  

image001 2 The great day of the Lord is near—near and coming quickly. The cry on the day of the Lord is bitter; the Mighty Warrior shouts his battle cry. That day will be a day of wrath—a day of distress and anguish, a day of trouble and ruin, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness, a day of trumpet and battle cry against the fortified cities and against the corner towers. (Zephaniah 1:14-16) 

There is a whole generation of children who are being raised without one or both parents from that day. I just want to say to those who will always carry their sorrow, please know that God has promise for you because He is “A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.” (Psalm 68:5) God does not renege on his promises, or goes back on His word because He is not a liar. “God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?” (Numbers 23:19) The terrorists thought they brought the Americans to their knees on that day. In a way they did. But, not in the way they thought. Many were brought to their knees and turned to God in prayer. I will say that this tragedy made people do some serious soul-searching; it made take a long, hard look of their lives and lifestyles. Maybe for the first time, people realized that they were not just doing things “their way”, they were actually sinning against God. That’s why there was such an urgency to go back to church. People realized that their lives could end at any given moment and they weren’t sure how where they would they for their afterlife? How can they be guaranteed heaven? Worse yet, what if they wound up in hell? What was their answer? Where do they go? Who has the answer? More importantly, WHO is the Answer? Some people turned back to God, and some found Him for the very first time; and they called Him by name…Jesus. “The name above all names.” “Emmanuel-God with us”.  (Philippians 2:9-11) “For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

For those who have always known Jesus; for those who came to know Him because of this tragedy; and for those who want to know Jesus, need to know that there is an assurance that God will always take care of His own. “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.” (Roman 8:image001-131-34) Nothing can take us from His hand and nothing can His love away from us.Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written:“For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:35-39)

As you walk Every Day with Grace, know that God is here for you know now. But you also need to know that as His people, we need to be ready and prepared for when Jesus returns because we do not know when He will return. Many people may perhaps have thought Jesus was returning on 09/11 even though it started out as just a regular day.  We need to keep watch because Jesus will return to this world and His Word is true.  My advice is to continue to live for Him, but keep watch for His return. “For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be.” (Matthew 24:37-39)image003

It is like a man going on a journey, when he leaves home and puts his servants in charge, each with his work, and commands the doorkeeper to stay awake. Therefore stay awake—for you do not know when the master of the house will come, in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning—lest he come suddenly and find you asleep. And what I say to you I say to all: Stay awake.” (Mark 13:133 ESV)

5592_pd73758full Hello and Happy Independence Day!  Those of us who live in the United States of America are celebrating the 238th birthday of our country. It is indeed a privilege to live in this country because of the freedom it provides to it’s citizens. This inheritance is from the blood, sacrifice, and vision of our forefathers so that we could have a government by the people and for the people; and not be under any one ruler or dictatorship. Our forefathers who wrote our Constitution were men who strongly believed in God and Jesus Christ.  They actually revered God -and that played such an active role in their guidance for our country and how it should exist long after they were gone. In other words, their integrity was woven into our Constitution.  It amazes me that such interpretation of our Constitution is used for sin and for evil. It provided “rights” for the people…not entitlement and that is where the confusion lies.

I don’t when the feeling or thinking of entitlement crept into the American way of thinking, but that mentality seemed to have spread severely since World War II. Maybe because there have been other wars which have brought loss to families, but, if it wasn’t for those who believed in something greater than themselves, we would still be under England’s Regime. Our founding fathers sought God in prayer-privately and corporately for God to guide them as they created a new nation.  They envisioned a new nation under God Almighty as their right to freely serve Him-not to have a misguided interpretation of God so as to be separate from Him.

In scripture, all nations had a human ruler-except for the Jewish people. God was their ruler until they asked for a human king.  Then the problems really started.  Mankind was created by God-therefore, it cannot truly function without God.  Communism and socialism are governments that do not believe in God and will arrest people (and kill them) if they confess to believing in God-especially Jesus Christ.  America was a nation founded on God and Biblical beliefs. Entitlement is a socialist mentality.  Nobody owes us anything.  To live in the United States is a privilege to obtain all access of what it offers, like freedom of religion, free enterprise, freedom of speech, and freedom to WORK! Many countries do not have employment opportunities-but, we do. And, yes, working is a privilege.  The Bible states “if you don’t work, you do not eat” “Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from every brother who leads an unruly life and not according to the tradition which you received from us. For you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example, because we did not act in an undisciplined manner among you, nor did we eat anyone’s bread without paying for it, but with labor and hardship we kept working night and day so that we would not be a burden to any of you; not because we do not have the right to this, but in order to offer ourselves as a model for you, so that you would follow our example. For even when we were with you, we used to give you this order: if anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either.” (2 Thessalonians 3:6-10)

I am Blessed to call America my home. I absolutely will support my troops, salute my flag,sing the Star Spangled Banner, and take part in the blessings it has to offer.  I will continue to pray with like-minded believers and continually ask God to look out for our nation and to Bless America.  I am grateful that my nation has not turned its  back on God.
