“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” (Hebrews 11:6)

Hello. How is everyone? It has been a rough couple of weeks and I believe, it’s going to continue that way for a little longer. I was going talk about one thing, however, I jut received a phone call that slightly changed what I wanted to say.

First, let me encourage all of you to have faith in God. That is where all hope lies-through Jesus Christ. He is God the Father, God, the Son and God the Holy Spirit. During this time in life, God is not what one would call “tangible”. We can’t see Him or touch Him so we need to have faith to believe He is alive and that He is here for us. What I mean by that is-by faith we have entered into a relationship with God. To have faith literally means (according to Webster’s Dictionary): ” firm belief in something for which there is no proof : complete trust” and ” belief and trust in and loyalty to God.” To put such trust in to God makes Him happy (pleased). But, there are many people who don’t take that step of faith.  Ever hear of “doubting Thomas?  “Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” (John 20:29) Now is the time to develop your relationship with God. Now is the time to pour your heart, your soul and your tears. You reward will be Jesus’ physical return to this earth and our living with Him face to face for all of eternity.

Secondly, I want to re-inforce  to you that all the words said in the Bible are true. The Bible is God’s instruction manual on how we should live. We must cling to His truth which is in His Word, the Bible. There is certainly nothing new under the sun that God hasn’t already spoken about. We are not alone even though we cannot tangibly see God.  He knows we are frail without Him. That’s why He said: “If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever;” ( John 14:15-16) “But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.” (John 15: 24-27) It is when we are going through the trials we feel as if we are the furthest from God and His love. However, that is when He is walking with us and sometimes carrying us to the other side. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil; for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me.” (Psalm 23:4) We need to choose NOT to fear the trial we are currently facing. Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10) Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you shall find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My load is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30) He gives strength to the weary, And to him who lacks might He increases power.” (Isaiah 40:29)  We need to strive to keep our hearts and minds on heave and heavenly things.”Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.” (Colossians 3:2-4 ). I am not saying that these are easy choices. In fact they are not. It is hard work, but, we have to choose to change our thinking so we can embrace the faith that was already given to those who believe in Jesus.

When trials or tragedy or just life happens, we need to encourage ourselves and each other in God’s Word which gives us the faith to continue on in life because of His words of truth and promises.  Here are some scriptures to dwell on:

Unless the Lord had given me help, I would soon have dwelt in the silence of death. When I said, “My foot is slipping, your unfailing love, Lord, supported me. When anxiety was great within me your consolation brought me joy.”  (Psalm 94:17-19

“The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.: (Psalm 34:17-19)

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:7)

“For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” (Romans 1:17)

As you Walk Every Day With Grace, pray on these scriptures and ask God to increase your faith and in doing so, we please Him.

In His Love,

Melody
