“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” (Psalm 91:1-2)

Hello! How is everyone?  I hope your week was peaceful-at least somewhat peaceful.  Sadly, crazy, busy is probably more accurate…but, I can hope! What do you like to do when the stresses of life wear you down? Run? Shop? Eat? Sleep? Gossip? Kvetch? (which means to complain).  Ignore people and things? Fall into delusion from the television? Yes? No? To be honest, I have done all of the above…hopefully, not all at the same time . 🙂

Now, what we (that includes me) should do is we should run and take refuge in God when we are in the process of our trial. “Hear my cry, O God; Attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth, I will cry to You. When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For you have been a shelter for me, a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings.” (Psalm 61:1-4)  We should always seek God for His love, wisdom, and strength-because our own love will be selfish, our wisdom futile; and our strength finite. “But where can wisdom be found? Where does understanding dwell? No mortal comprehends its worth; it cannot be found in the land of the living.” (Job 28:12-13). It is only through God that we can lose ourselves and gain His true wisdom, peace and protection. The secret place is in our prayer time with God. It is when we are loving Him, conversing with Him and even un-burdoning our souls to Him that we are abiding in Him. That’s how we put our trust in Him. That is when our relationship develops and becomes less of us and more of Him! It is because of His presence that we have the confidence and knowledge to say He is my fortress and that I will trust in Him!  “I will love You, O Lord,  my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies. (Psalm 18:2-3)

Oh, my friends, have you encountered the tenderness, the intimacy of God’s love for you? Have you made the time to dwell and get to know Him? When we meet new people, we spend our time and dwell within their company so we can get to know them better. That is exactly how we get to know Jesus, we spend time with Him and we converse (pray) to Him. Prayer opens the window of communication and in His Word (the Bible) is where He speaks to us. “But when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to the Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.” (Matthew 6:6)

As you get to know who God  I want to share this from His word with you: “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.” (1 Timothy 2:1-6)  “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” (John 14:6)

My prayer for you this week is that you will experience the secret place you can have with Jesus and abide in His refuge as you Walk Every Day With Grace.

In His Love,

Melody
